The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting MMP activity comprising Melissa extract as an active ingredient.n n n Melissa leaf extract was inhibited by 57% MMP-1, MMP-2 71%, MMP-9 73% in MMP-1.n n n Therefore, the pharmaceutical composition comprising the melissa leaf extract of the present invention as an active ingredient can be used for the treatment of a wide range of diseases associated with excessive MMP activity. |
