titleOfInvention Removal of metal ions and recovery of boron using electrodeionization process in the primary cooling water of nuclear power plant
abstract The present invention relates to a method for removing metal ions and a method for recovering boron from an electrodeionization (EDI) process from a reactor primary cooling water, and more particularly, to a metal in a reactor primary cooling water using an electrodeionization process. In the removal of ions, waste ion exchange resins are generated unlike conventional methods using only ion exchange resins by adjusting the charging order and ion deion stack configuration of ion exchange materials to prevent precipitation of hydroxide complexes. Is solved fundamentally, and unlike the electric deionization process that has been used in the field of conventional ultrapure water production, since metal ions do not react with hydroxide ions to form complexes, it is possible to prevent rapid deterioration of the device due to complex precipitation. The present invention relates to a method for maximizing purification efficiency and ensuring reliability of removal efficiency. Then, in order to recover the boron as a reactivity control material in the concentrate obtained in the process, the electrodialysis and electrodeionization process are carried out. In the electrodeionization process, a weak ion species such as boron are charged by filling the water decomposition suppression network in a necessary position. The present invention relates to a method for reducing waste and operating costs by recovering with high efficiency.
