titleOfInvention Antimicrobial Absorbent Article, and Methods of Making and Using the Same
abstract A non-irritating multi-ply absorbent article (110) made by treating an inner surface (122) with one or more antimicrobial agents (140) and treating one or more outer surfaces (121) with one or more siloxane compositions (130) Method is disclosed. The antimicrobial agent remains trapped inside the absorbent article to prevent irritation to the user and the siloxane treated ply (s) will provide satisfactory, smooth, and non-irritating tactile qualities. In one embodiment, the siloxane composition comprises an amine-modified polysiloxane, wherein the article also captures any absorbed fluid and retains this fluid in contact with the antimicrobial agent thereby preventing it from seeping into contact with the user something to do.
