abstract |
The present invention relates to (a) (i) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer or prepolymer and (ii) heat stable at a selected melt processing temperature range and heat-blockable at a deblocking temperature above a selected melt processing temperature range. Forming a polymerizable mixture comprising at least one monoethylenically unsaturated, blocked mono- or polyisocyanate; (b) polymerizing the polymerizable mixture by exposure to delivery energy to form a polymer composition comprising polymerized units derived from blocked mono- or polyisocyanates; (c) melt processing the polymer composition in the selected melt processing temperature range to form a melt processed polymer composition; And (d) during or after the melt processing, increasing the temperature of the melt processed polymer composition to a deblocking temperature in the presence of at least one isocyanate reactive crosslinker to effect crosslinking of the melt processed polymer composition. A method of crosslinking a processed polymer composition is disclosed. |
