titleOfInvention | Delivery system having encapsulated porous carrier loaded with additives, particularly detergent additives such as perfumes |
abstract | The present invention relates to additive delivery systems that are protected from release until exposed to a wet or damp environment, which is incorporated into a variety of consumer products including detergents and cleaning compositions, indoor deodorants, pesticide compositions, carpet cleaners and deodorants. In particular, the additive delivery system of the present invention encapsulates a core of a porous carrier material containing an additive such as a fragrance in a pore of the porous carrier material, a first coating of hydrophobic oil encapsulating the core and a hydrophobic oil coated core, Particles comprising a second coating of a water soluble or water dispersible but oil insoluble material such as starch or modified starch. The delivery particles of the invention can be used to deliver laundry and detergents into or through the wash cycle. The laundry additive delivery particles according to the present invention effectively deliver the perfume component to the fabric surface through washing. |
