Pharmaceutical compositions for oral and topical administration |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for increasing the viscosity of a pharmaceutical formulation for oral or topical administration comprising combining the following substances:n n n a) an effective amount of one or more hydrophobic active ingredients;n n n b) from 5 to 50% of one or more compounds selected from polyglycerol esters of fatty acids having 6 - 15 glycerol units;n n n c) from 5 to 50% of one or more compounds selected from polyglycerol esters of fatty acids and / or unsaturated fatty acids having 2 - 12 glycerol units;n n n d) from 5 to 50% of one or more compounds selected from triglyceride macrogol glycerol esters, partial glycerides, macromolecular esters of fatty acids or fatty acids and simultaneously the ratio between components b) and d) is from 0.1: 1 to 10: 1; The viscosity of the formulation increased by at least 5-fold compared to the un-diluted composition when diluted with a 1: 1 volume of water. |
