Anti-abnormal type prion monoclonal antibody, process for producing the same, and immunoassay using the same |
abstract |
A monoclonal antibody capable of distinguishing an abnormal prion from a normal prion, and a preparation method thereof are disclosed. Anti-amorphous prion monoclonal antibodies of the present invention react with an abnormal prion by antigen-antibody reactions but do not substantially react with normal prions by antigen-antibody reactions. The anti-amorphous prion monoclonal antibodies of the present invention can be obtained by immunizing an animal with an immunogen comprising a peptide containing a plurality of regions that are discontinuously present in each other in the primary amino acid sequence of the abnormal prion. |
