titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for non-invasive blood analyte measurement |
abstract | The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for non-invasively measuring the concentration of analyte, in particular blood analyte, in the blood. The method uses spectroscopic techniques in conjunction with means for equilibrating the concentration of analyte between the vascular system fluid compartment of the test region and another tissue fluid compartment. An improved optical interface is provided between the skin or tissue surface of the body containing the blood to be analyzed and the sensor probe. Multiple readings are taken during the equilibration period and used to indicate the direction and rate of change in the concentration of analyte in the blood, which is useful for optimizing treatment response to collected data. |
