titleOfInvention Semiconductor memory
abstract An object of the present invention is to automatically perform a refresh of a memory cell in a semiconductor memory internally without being visible from the outside.n n n The present invention has a plurality of banks that operate independently. The refresh generation circuit generates refresh requests at predetermined intervals. The refresh counter generates a refresh address. The holding circuit holds refresh completion / incomplete information for each memory cell in each bank indicated by the refresh address. The refresh control circuit refreshes banks in which refresh is incomplete among banks which are not in operation based on information held in the holding circuit when a refresh request occurs. Since the refresh operation is executed in the non-operating bank, the refresh operation can be executed automatically without being recognized from the outside.
