abstract The present invention relates to substituted 3-phenyl-5-alkoxy-1,3,4-oxdiazol-2-one of Formula 1, or a physiologically acceptable salt or optical isomer thereof. The invention also relates to a process for its preparation. The compounds of the present invention have an inhibitory effect on hormone-sensitive lipases, HSL.n n n Formula 1n n n n n n n n In the above formula,n n n R 1 is unsubstituted or substituted C 1 -C 6 -alkyl or C 3 -C 9 -cycloalkyl,n n n R 2 and R 3 independently of one another are hydrogen, C 6 -C 10 -aryl, C 3 -C 8 -cycloalkyl, C 6 -C 10 -aryloxymethyl, O-benzyl, OC 6 -C 10 -aryl, OC 3 -C 8 -cycloalkyl, OC 1 -C 6 -alkyl, SO 2 -NH-C 1 -C 6 -alkyl, SO 2 -NH- (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine- 4-yl), SO 2 -NH-C 3 -C 8 -cycloalkyl, SO 2 -N (C 1 -C 6 -alkyl) 2 , or COX [where X is OC 1 -C 6 -alkyl, NH -C 1 -C 6 -alkyl, NH-C 3 -C 8 -cycloalkyl or N (C 1 -C 6 -alkyl) 2 ;n n n Substituents R 2 and R 3 may in certain instances be unsubstituted or substituted and at the same time not all hydrogen.
