The present invention relates to human liver tissue which provides a method for isolating and cryopreserving the source cells from human liver and a single cell suspension containing progenitors and non-origin cells of one or more cell lines found in human liver. . Debulking the suspension to remove the non-originating cells from the suspension enhances the develped suspension, the source cell exhibiting one or more markers associated with one or more cell lineages. Cells selected from the debulked suspension, their progeny, and mature forms express one or more markers associated with one or more cell lines. Among these markers are CD14, CD34, CD38, CD45 and ICAM. Liver-derived cells are expressed in diploid, glycophorin A-, CD45-, AFP +++, ALB +, ICAM + with 6-15 u diameter and are expressed in CD 14+, CD34 ++, CD38 ++, CD117 +. This progenitor population is particularly useful for liver cells and for gene theory and the creation of artificial organs. |
