The present invention relates to zeolite bonded zeolite catalysts which do not contain significant amounts of non-zeolitic binders and which can be adapted to optimize catalyst performance, and methods of converting hydrocarbons using said zeolite bonded zeolite catalysts. Zeolite bonded zeolite catalysts include core crystals containing a first crystal of a first zeolite and an optional second crystal of a second zeolite having a different composition, structure, or both than the first zeolite; And a binder crystal containing a third crystal of the third zeolite and a fourth crystal of the fourth zeolite having a composition, structure, or both different from that of the third zeolite. If the core crystal does not contain the second crystal of the second zeolite, the binder crystal must contain the fourth crystal of the fourth zeolite.
