The present invention relates to methods for modifying the expression of viral genes in cells using sense RNA fragments and antisense RNA fragments of viral genes. Sense RNA fragments and antisense RNA fragments pair to form double-stranded RNA molecules to modify the expression of genes. The invention also relates to cells, plants or animals obtained by the method of the invention, their progeny and seeds therefrom. Preferably said cell, plant or animal is resistant or resistant to viruses. |
