A method of using potassium oxalate salt, 99% dihydrate, to react with calcium in dentin fluid to form calcium oxalate of white precipitate that occludes dentin tubules resulting in reduced sensitivity, permeability and acid penetration of dentin. The liquid composition of potassium oxalate salt, dihydrate 99% comprises from about 1.5% to about 10% by weight of potassium oxalate salt, dihydrate 99% having a particle size of about 1 to about 10 microns when viewed under a 100-fold microscope. The liquid composition has a pH of about 2.0 to 4.0. A method for preparing the liquid composition is disclosed. |
