titleOfInvention Method for manufacturing a diamond cylinder array having dents therein
abstract The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a diamond cylinder arrangement having recesses or hollow portions opening in the front end face of a cylinder made of diamond. Plasma etching is provided to the diamond cylinder arrangement to form recesses in the tip surface of each cylinder. As a result, the recessed part 13 is formed in the front end side of each cylinder 6A, and the cylinder-shaped or annular protrusion 14 which encloses the recessed part 13 remains. The diamond cylinder arrangement 15A can be used for the electron emitting portion and the like.
