titleOfInvention A process for the isolation of compound scopoletin useful as nitric oxide synthesis inhibitor
abstract FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for separating scopoletin compounds used as inhibitors of nitric oxide synthesis from plants of Artemisia annua and other families, wherein aqueous powders of acetonitrile solvents in dry water from various plant parts in a ratio of 1: 5. Extracting for 6 to 8 hours; Concentrating the extracted solvent under vacuum to 30% of the original extract; Distributing the concentrated extract with a halogenated solvent to transfer the scopoletin to a nonpolar halogenated solvent; Drying the halogenated solvent with anhydrous sodium sulfate and evaporating the solvent; Crystallizing the residue in methanol and filtering the crystals; Concentration of the filtrate by chromatography on silica gel; Eluting scopoline in a chloroform methanol mixture and crystallizing the fraction containing scopoline to obtain a pure scopoline compound.
