The present invention relates to novel naphthopyran compounds having ring groups annealed at 6, 7 positions. The naphthopyran compound has a structure represented by Chemical Formula 1. The compound represented by Formula 5 has advantageous photochromic properties. The present invention also encompasses methods for preparing the naphthopyran compounds and their application as photochromators: compositions and (co) polymer matrices in which they are contained. |
