abstract |
The present invention relates to a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same, wherein the negative electrode active material is formed on the core and the core containing crystalline carbon formed from mesophase pitch, has a graphitization catalytic effect and can modify the surface structure. Carbon shells comprising one or more elements or compounds of the foregoing elements. The negative electrode active material is capable of oxidatively stabilizing mesophase pitch for 0.1 to 10 hours, carbonizing the oxidatively stabilized mesoface pitch, having a graphitizing catalytic effect and remodeling the surface structure. It is prepared by the process of coating / mixing with one element or a compound thereof and graphitizing the obtained product at 2000 to 3100 ° C. This negative electrode active material has high capacity and efficiency and is excellent in life characteristics. |
