abstract |
Capsules for pharmaceutical dispensing are made from two films of water soluble polymeric material by modifying the film to form a plurality of recesses and filling the recesses with a flowable filling material. The films are then bonded together by dielectric bonding to form a filling capsule that is cut or punched from the bonding film. These steps are performed at a single location to avoid any problem with the indication of the recess with the joining or cutting means. The polymeric material may be a water soluble cellulose derivative such as gelatin or hydrooxypropyl methyl cellulose, and may also contain a plasticizer. |
