titleOfInvention | Selectively hydrogenated polymer compositions: polybutadiene-isoprene-polybutadiene |
abstract | The present invention provides dispersants and dispersant viscosity index improvers comprising polymers of hydrogenated, functionalized, optionally modified, post-treated conjugated dienes. Dispersant materials include copolymers of two different conjugated dienes, such as butadiene-isoprene-butadiene. The polymer is selectively hydrogenated to provide a highly selective functionalization by providing a polymer with a highly controlled amount of unsaturation. Also provided are lubricant fluids, such as mineral and synthetic oils, wherein the dispersant material of the invention is modified in dispersibility and / or viscosity properties. Also provided are methods of modifying the dispersibility and / or viscosity characteristics of lubricant fluids such as inorganic lubricants and synthetic lubricants. Dispersant materials may also include a carrier fluid that provides a dispersant concentrate. |
