titleOfInvention | Aminoplast anchored trisaryl-triazine UV absorber |
abstract | There is provided a new class of UV absorbers, o-hydroxyphenyl substituted triazine compounds bound to aminoplast resins. Compared to the unanchored stabilizer, the anchored stabilizer described in the present invention has increased miscibility with the coating resin and reduced volatility due to the high molecular weight resulting from the anchoring. The novel o-hydroxyphenyl substituted triazine compounds are bound to aminoplast resins by carbon-oxygen, carbon-carbamoyl nitrogen or carbon-active methylene carbon bonds. Aminoplasts include alkoxymethylated derivatives of glycoluril, melamine and urea-formaldehyde resins. |
