titleOfInvention | Trisaryl-1,3,5-triazine ultraviolet light absorbers containing hindered phenols |
abstract | The present invention is generally directed to protecting hindered phenol substituted triazines and materials such as coatings, polymers, resins, organic compounds, etc. from degradation by environmental forces, including ultraviolet radiation, actinic radiation, oxidation, moisture, air pollutants and combinations thereof. To the use thereof. A new class of hindered phenol substituted triazines are hydrides that are substituted by groups of which one of the aryl groups contains or is hindered phenol or is ortho at the point of attachment to the triazine and are free or blocked to form latent stabilizers. Trisaryl-1,3,5-triazine further substituted by a siloxane group. These materials can form oligomers under suitable circumstances. Also described are methods for stabilizing the material by incorporating such hindered phenol substituted triazines. |
