titleOfInvention Disposable Absorbent Articles Having Passive Side Bonds And Adjustable Fastening Systems
abstract The pre-fixed disposable absorbent article includes a pair of first fasteners located at the side edges opposite the one waist portion of the article. The first fastener overlaps and detachably engages the opposing waist portion of the absorbent article to provide a pre-fixed absorbent article. The pre-fixed disposable absorbent article further comprises a pair of passive side engagements located in one waist portion inward of the first fastener. The passive side engagement detachably connects the overlapped portion to the front waist portion to help maintain the pre-fixed absorbent article in a pre-fixed state. This side engagement also prevents the waist portions of the product from moving relative to each other during use. The product may also include one or more second fasteners located in one of the waist portions of the absorbent article. The shape of the second fastener is such that the waist portion of the product fits well on the wearer's body after the product has been worn past the wearer's hips and detachably engages the opposite waist portion of the absorbent article.
