titleOfInvention Ionic polyurethanes
abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a charged polyurethane, comprising: (i) a first alcohol selected from at least 10 carbon atom-containing diols;n n n (Ii) a second alcohol selected from less than 8 carbon atom containing alkylene diols and alkyleneoxy diols, polyols and mixtures thereof;n n n (Iii) a agent selected from (a) a charged functional group or atom-containing diol, (b) a diol containing an uncharged functional group or atom that can form a charge and is converted to a charged functional group or atom, and (c) a polyol Reacting hydroxyl groups of various alcohols including isocyanates with isocyanates of polyisocyanates, and reacting the hydroxyl groups of the polyols with charged functional groups or atom-containing compounds or with chargeless functional groups or atom-containing compounds capable of forming charges A method of making a charged polyurethane comprising converting an electroless functional group or atom into a charged functional group or atom.n n n The present invention also relates to the use in a method of surface treating a material in the form of a sheet or web by applying a charged polyurethane to the obtained charged polyurethane, its aqueous product and the material surface.
