An organic compound containing a halogen compound, such as fluorine and chlorine, as an impurity, and having an unconjugated carbon-carbon double bond, such as a butene polymer produced by a boron trifluoride catalyst, is treated with an inorganic solid treating agent containing aluminum atoms. Dehalogenation can be performed favorably. In addition, by coexisting basic substances such as ammonia and amines, it becomes possible to continue the dehalogenation treatment while suppressing isomerization of non-conjugated carbon-carbon double bonds over a long period of time. |
