titleOfInvention | Method for identifying chemical active agents and active agents for inhibiting the 1-desoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate biosynthetic pathway |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for identifying chemical actives suitable for treating infectious diseases caused by unicellular or multicellular parasites. According to this method, a protein constituting part of the 1-desoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate metabolic pathway or a derivative thereof that acts in the same manner is contacted with an active to be tested for effects on the parasite.
