titleOfInvention | High suction polymeric foam materials |
abstract | Polymeric foam structures suitable for absorbing and storing body fluids such as urine, menstrual fluid and the like are disclosed. Such liquid storage structures are high absorption input, collapsible polymeric foam materials. Collapsed foams can expand and absorb these fluids even when placed in significant hydrostatic pressure upon contact with the aqueous fluid. Such absorbent polymeric foams comprise interconnected continuous bubbles. In one embodiment, the foam may absorb at least about 25 g / g for a hydrostatic head pressure of 50 cm. In another embodiment, the foam of the present invention will have a vertical jamming height at 90% of at least about 60 cm. |
