Absorbent members for absorbing body liquids |
abstract |
The present invention discloses an absorptive member useful for receiving body fluids such as urine. The absorbent member of the present invention comprises at least one osmotic absorbent (preferably hydrogel-forming absorbent polymer) and a high surface area material and has high capillary attraction. For the purposes of the present disclosure, capillary suction capacity is generally measured in terms of the member's ability to suck liquid at high capillary heights encountered when the member is positioned in the absorbent article. In particular, capillary suction capacity is measured in terms of capillary sorption absorption capacity of the member measured according to the capillary sorption method described in the Test Methods section. |
