abstract |
The present invention includes contacting a sample with an enzyme source that encodes a primer and a catalytic nucleic acid sequence but is itself an anti-sense sequence, such that an amplified single that includes both sequences of the target and catalyst molecules, if present, is present. The production of nucleic acid molecules provides methods of detecting and quantitatively determining target nucleic acid sequences in a sample. The invention further provides a method for simultaneously detecting the presence of multiple target nucleic acid sequences in a sample. Finally, the present invention provides molecules and kits capable of carrying out the detection method of the present invention. |
