titleOfInvention Method for Polymerising and Copolymerising Ethylene
abstract The present invention relates to a method of polymerizing ethylene at a temperature of 110 to 350 ° C. under a pressure of 1000 to 4000 bar in the presence of a peroxide polymerization initiator or a method of copolymerizing ethylene with an unsaturated vinylic comonomer. One or more nonpolymerizable carboxylic acids are added to the polymerization reaction mixture in an amount of 0.01 to 2.0% by weight relative to the total amount of ethylene in the polymerization reaction mixture to affect the decomposition rate of the polymerization reaction initiator.
