In the present invention, the inventors have found that the molecule CD147 expressed on specific cells, such as T cells, B cells and / or monocytes, can be used to treat a variety of diseases. In particular, the inventors have demonstrated that antibodies that bind to CD147 and, for example, result in the death of such cells through binding of complement, are effective in treating diseases. Diseases in which such treatment appears to be effective include macrohost graft disease (GVHD), organ transplant rejection diseases (e.g., kidney transplants, eye transplants and other transplant rejection diseases), cancer (e.g., shale (i.e., leukemia and lymphoma), Pancreatic cancer and others), autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and others, but are not limited to these. |
