Linear antigen supporting units |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a synthetic construct comprising a linear main chain having two or more side chains directly running from different points on the linear main chain. Each side chain forms the epitope region of a peptide or antigen. Synthetic constructs are monomer units that can be linked or polymerized together to form a polymer. In such embodiments, the epitope regions of the side chains may be the same or different. The linear main chain may be a linear amino acid sequence having two or more identical peptides that directly depend from different points on the linear sequence. Another aspect of the invention relates to a support having one or more different synthetic constructs or polymers coupled to the support. Another aspect of the invention relates to antibodies produced against said synthetic constructs or polymers. The antibodies mentioned above can be used to purify the antibody. Another aspect of the invention is a vaccine containing the synthetic construct. Also included in the present invention are methods for the synthesis of such constructs and polymers. |
