titleOfInvention Electromagnetic shielding
abstract The electromagnetic wave shielding material of the present invention is formed of a shielding composite composed of magnetic particles and a binder, the magnetic particles being substantially crystalline, having an average particle diameter of less than about 1000 nm. Magnetic particles may be formed of Fe 2 O 3 , Fe 3 O 4 , Fe 3 C, and Fe 7 C 3 . The shielding composite can be formed of layer 500 or composite particles 600. The binder 504 may be a metal or an electrically conductive polymer. Conductive layer 558 may be disposed adjacent to the shielding composite. Shielding materials can be used to protect sensitive electronic devices. Also described is a method of forming iron oxide particles by laser pyrolysis.
