titleOfInvention Immersion Nozzle for Casting Steel Strip
abstract Steel strip continuous casting in a two roll roll casting machine includes a casting roll 16. The molten steel is directed to the dispenser 18 and the feed nozzle 19 to a casting pool 68 supported above the nip 69 between the rotating casting rolls 16 to feed the solidified steel down the nip. It is supplied by an inclusive dispensing system. The feed nozzle 19 is deposited in the casting pool 68. In order to minimize the reaction of the carbon in the feed nozzle with oxygen containing a mixture of the casting pool, the feed nozzle is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and the major part of the refractory agglomerate and the minor part having at least 96% graphite in the range of 15 to 25% by weight It is formed of a refractory material comprising a semi-oxidizer additive. Refractory aggregates consist mainly of alumina.
