abstract | Improved inhibition against yellowing when pulp or paper containing lignin, especially chemical or thermomechanical pulp or paper, contains an effective stabilizing amount of sterically hindered amine compound, preferably nitroxide, hydroxylamine or ammonium salts thereof Have sex. This effect is further enhanced when there is at least one coadditive selected from the group consisting of UV absorbers, polymerizable inhibitors, nitrons, fluorescent brighteners, metal chelating agents, sulfur containing stabilizers, metal salts and diene compounds.n n n Particularly effective are combinations of nitroxides, hydroxylamines or salts thereof, benzotriazole or benzophenone UV absorbers and metal chelating agents. Derivatives and hydroxylamine salts of 1-oxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-ol are novel compounds and are very effective for this purpose. |
