abstract A picking and placing mechanism for assembling a plurality of contactors on a contact substrate is disclosed. The picking and placing mechanism is provided between a first area for placing an intermediate plate having a plurality of contactors, a second area for placing a contact substrate for receiving the contactor, a first area and the second area, and a contactor on the sheet. A carrier for changing the direction of the contactor in a predetermined direction when accommodating, a first transport mechanism for picking the contactor from the intermediate plate and placing the contactor on the sheet of the carrier, and maintaining the predetermined direction of the contactor defined by the carrier. And a second transfer mechanism for picking the contactor from the sheet of carrier and placing the contactor on the contact substrate for bonding.
