titleOfInvention Conversion coatings on aluminum from kf solutions for flux-less brazing
abstract The present invention relates to a method for forming a solderable conversion coating that can be soldered without flux. According to the method, the aluminum surface is first coated by thermal degreasing or water soluble alkaline degreasing and then contacting the treated surface with a KF solution. KF concentrations range from 2.0 to 25.0 wt. %, And the temperature conditions are between 32 ° C. and 100 ° C. (90 ° F. to 212 ° F.) for at least 5 seconds.
