Inhibitors such as tetracycline and / or compounds that inhibit the P-450-mediated metabolism of retinoids such as ketoconazole and other azole compounds. In this method, the composition is applied before exposure to the sun; Depending on the components used in the composition, the application should be carried out 7 to 48 hours before exposure. Compounds that prevent erythema (skin redness, sunburn) do not necessarily protect against UV-mediated elevations of MMP levels; similarly, compounds that prevent UV-mediated elevations of MMP levels and activity are not necessarily protected.
