titleOfInvention A process for the preparation of amlodipine benzenesulfonate
abstract The present invention relates to a process for producing amlodipine benzenesulfonate by reacting a salt of amlodipine with an inorganic acid or an organic acid in an alkali metal benzenesulfonate and an aqueous medium or a mixture of water and C 1 -C 2 alcohol. Amlodipine benzenesulfonate is used for the manufacture of a medicament that blocks calcium channels and is useful for the treatment of coronary artery disease and arterial hypertension.
