titleOfInvention | Programmable led driver pad |
abstract | Device for programmable LED driver pads. A light emitting diode (LED) driver pad is disclosed that includes a multiplication digital-to-analog converter (MDAC), which allows different LED characteristics to match in a digital manner. Indeed, multiple MDACs can be integrated on a single integrated circuit with one MDAC per LED color, or a single MDAC can be multiplexed to drive multiple different color LEDs. MDAC allows the LED operating current to be set in a digital fashion while simultaneously controlling the overall brightness or intensity, resulting in a uniform color balance over the operating characteristic range. |
