titleOfInvention | Crambescidin Compounds |
abstract | Two kinds of chlorinated spermidine structures, together with known clambecidin (1-5) and propylmycaline A (6), using FABMS-induced separation from extracts of Mediterranean sponge crambe crambe Of the new hydrophobic crampesidines 834 (7), 818 (8), four new hydrophobic crampesidines 673 (9), 687 (10), 657 (11) and 13,14,15- without spermidine structures. Isorambecidin 657 (12) is obtained. Through parallel bioassays on L1210 murine leukemia cells, crampescidins 834 (7), 818 (8) and 657 (11) show five-fold cytotoxicity compared to the known cramblesidine 816 (1). Crampesidines with spermidine or spermidine derivatives exhibit antimicrobial activity against Rhodolora glutinis. |
