titleOfInvention | Methods and materials for making and using transgenic dicamba-degrading organisms |
abstract | The invention encodes isolated and at least partially purified decamba-degrading enzymes, isolated DNA molecules encoding decamba-degrading enzymes, DNA structures encoding decamba-degrading enzymes, decamba-degrading enzymes. Transgenic host cells comprising DNA and transgenic plants and parts of plants comprising one or more cells comprising DNA encoding dicamba-degrading enzymes. Expression of dicamba-degrading enzymes results in the production of dicamba-degrading organisms, including dicamba-resistant plants. The present invention also provides a method of controlling weeds in a habitat comprising the transgenic dicamba-resistant plants of the present invention and applying an effective amount of the transgenic microorganism or dicamba-degrading enzyme of the present invention to a substance comprising dicamba. Provided is a method for purifying a material comprising dicamba. Finally, the present invention provides a method for selecting transformed plants and plant cells based on dicamba resistance and host cells transformed based on the fluorescence of 3,6-dichlorosalicylic acid resulting from dicamba degradation. It provides a method for selecting or screening complete organisms and parts of the organism. |
