| abstract | Methods and apparatus used to produce feed products or premixes and products made by the methods. The specified amount of krill hydrolyzate is added to the specified amount of dry carrier with or without adding the specified amount of liquid dissolved protein. The mixture is subjected to an evaporation and drying step where relatively heavier particles are separated from relatively lighter particles. The mixture may be mixed, ground and chemically reacted in a balance tank prior to being fed into the dryer. The dryer uses a warm air source, a tower and a dust collector to dry the mixture as the mixture enters the dryer. Temperature sensitive enzymes or other bioactive products can be added to the product produced from the dryer. Also disclosed are methods of obtaining enzymes from fresh krill extracts or autolyzed krill preparations and products thereof. Also disclosed are methods for separating bound proteins and pigments from crustacean waste using krill enzymes and the products produced by the methods. |
