abstract The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for conducting an electrochemical analysis. The present invention provides an electrochemical method for conducting a potentiometric analysis to detect specific binding between a first member of a biologically bonded pair and a second member of an electrochemically labeled biologically bound pair in the presence of an electrochemical medium. Provide a chemical device. Methods of using the devices of the present invention for conducting binding and competitive binding assays are provided. The present invention also provides a method for carrying out a high throughput screen assay for detecting inhibition of specific binding between members of a biological binding pair for use in drug development, biochemical analysis and protein purification analysis.
