Application to the leaves of plants growing water-soluble salts of chitosan increases the yield of vegetables, tubers, grains, fruits and flowers. Treated plants are more viable, more robust, drought-resistant, and many varieties have extended production periods. Plants can be treated effectively and conveniently by spraying solutions containing 0.01-1.5% by weight of chitoates to the leaves using common equipment and techniques. |
