Washing products with low polarization zones and high internal reversal emulsions |
abstract |
The present invention relates to wet wash wipes and similar products particularly useful for the removal of perianal contamination. These wipes 201 include a carrier comprising one or more nonpolar regions, optionally a preferred substrate 202 (eg, tissue paper web), and an emulsion 209 applied to the carrier. The emulsion comprises a continuous external lipid phase and a dispersed internal polar phase. The continuous lipid phase of the emulsion is susceptible to breakage, which bursts when low shear pressure is applied during use to release the dispersed internal phase. Incorporation of the non-polar region provides the ability to regulate the flow of internal water phase components and rupture the emulsion. |
