titleOfInvention | Polyaspartic esters containing additional isocyanate-reactive functionality for spray polyurea coatings |
abstract | The present invention provides a process for producing a polyurea coating comprising preparing a coating composition comprising a polyisocyanate component and an isocyanate reactive component, coating the substrate with the coating composition and curing the coating composition at a temperature below 100 ° C. The isocyanate reactive component comprises a reaction product of a maleic acid diester or fumaric acid diester with a polyamine component, wherein the polyamine component is one or more other reactive at temperatures below 100 ° C. for two primary amino groups and isocyanates. A polyurea comprising a polyamine with functional groups, wherein the diester and polyamine components are reacted at a ratio of less than 1 mole of diester per equivalent of isocyanate reactive group to produce a reaction product having at least 10 equivalent percent of unreacted isocyanate reactive groups. It relates to a process for the preparation of the coating. |
