abstract The present invention relates to a novel process for preparing 4-amino-5-hexenoic acid (vinyl GABA) of formula (A), a novel intermediate compound thereof, and a process for preparing the same, wherein glutamic acid-5- of formula (I) is prepared from glutamic acid. Using benzyl ester as a starting material, a method for economically preparing a target compound in a simple process is provided through the novel intermediates (II), (III) and (IV).
