titleOfInvention Process for preparative resolution of metoprolol enantiomer
abstract The present invention relates to a method for preparing a metoprolol enantiomer from a metoprolol racemate, specifically 1) by adding an optical isomerization reagent MCF (menthyl chloroformate) to the metoprolol racemate (± Obtaining) -diastereomers; 2) separating the (±) -diestereomeric mixture into (+), (-)-diestereomers using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC); 3) hydrolyzing the separated (+) and (-)-diesteromers to obtain enantiomers, and racemization as compared to conventional asymmetric synthesis or chiral chromatography. It is a method that can economically obtain high purity metoprolol enantiomer in a simple and fast manner as well as showing a high yield without racemization.
