abstract BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to brake components and power transmission belts based on ethylene, α-olefins and vinyl norbornene elastomers, and to diene monomer compounds other than vinyl norbornene, ethylene and α-olefin based elastomers. In comparison, it is more efficient because it results in a brake component compound that is lower in viscosity, faster in curing, and more fully cured. In addition, brake parts and power transmission belts based on ethylene, α-olefin, and vinyl norbornene elastomers include ethylene, α-olefin, nonconjugated diene elastomers (where dienes are not vinyl norbornene), polychloroprene or styrene. Compared to butadiene rubber, it has improved resistance to elevated temperatures and good thermal age hardening properties.
